Sympathy for the Devil by Amber Ily Knox

We died upon decaying beds
Blood stained from the last victim
I
Burned for him
With blissful naivety
But knew not of the consequence
I
Fell to his prey,
The cunning mate
Waiting to conquer the body
And bruise the soul.
I
Sympathized with the aggressor
But could only blame the act
And not the vessel.
